Epiphany III

Epiphany III is a manycore featuring 16 RICS CPU cores which is part of the Parallella board. The epiphany’s cores (eCores) are connected by a low-latency 2D mesh Network-on-Chip.

An ARM based processor Zynq-7000 SoC drives the Parallella board, this processor has its Ubuntu version called Parabuntu. There is a flat shared 1GB DDR3L SDRAM memory map that can be access by the whole board with a latency that avoids it usage for real-time purposes.

Each eCore has a local memory of 32KB that can be accessed by the eCore itself (in a single cycle) and the rest of eCores (adding the NoC delay to the access). Every eCore will have an instance of the M2OS running.
